Thank You Kiwanis International!
In 2022, Pacific Northwest Kiwanis clubs raised over $113,000 for the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program at Seattle Children’s Hospital to find the cure for childhood cancer.
The Seattle Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Fellowship Program brings together three world class partner
institutions, Seattle Children’s, the University of Washington, and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer
Research Center, to train the next generation of leaders in pediatric hematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplant. The program is highly competitive, each year selecting three fellows from nearly 100 outstanding applicants, who are chosen based on a combination of clinical excellence in pediatric medicine, scholarly accomplishments, and dedication to improving the lives of children.
Through rigorous clinical training, our fellows are expected to learn to lead a dynamic medical team providing compassionate care and the most advanced treatments for children with cancers and blood disorders. Additional training in research methodology equips our fellows with the skills necessary to advance scientific knowledge that accelerates progress toward improving clinical outcomes for pediatric cancer patients. This comprehensive program is designed with the goal of training exceptional physician-scientists who will be making the next big discoveries in childhood cancer research and conducting the clinical trials that bring this research to patients.
Made possible by the generous support of the Kiwanis Children’s Cancer Program – Seattle, our training program is central to our mission of bringing an end to the suffering caused by childhood cancer by finding cures for all of our young patients and helping them lead healthy and productive lives.
Thank you for helping us help more kids like Tiago!
