Seattle Extra Life Surpasses $10 Million Milestone

The Seattle Extra Life community has raised more than $10 million in support of the life-saving treatments, innovative research, and transformational pediatric care at Seattle Children’s!

Since 2010, nearly 1,000 tabletop and video gamers have participated in Extra Life and raised funds for Seattle Children’s. Whether you’ve raised $10 or $10,000, been participating in Extra Life since the beginning or are brand new, each and every one of our amazing Seattle Extra Lifers have contributed to massive impact at Seattle Children’s.

To help us celebrate this amazing milestone, we want to acknowledge a very special Extra Lifer who raised the 10-millionth dollar for Seattle Children’s.

Huzzah! for Sean Dowd, known in the Extra Life community and online as “Sharkims”. Sean has been participating in Extra Life for 8 years and has raised nearly $70,000 for Seattle Children’s. He has been supported along the way by an amazing group of family and friends that frequently stream together as “Sharkims and Friends“.

Thanks to Sharkims and Friends for being the ones to carry us over the $10 million threshold during a 24-hour Extra Life fundraiser they held August 17-18.

And THANK YOU to all our amazing Seattle Extra Lifers – we truly could not have reached this milestone without each and every one of you and without the support of our amazing partners at Wizards of the Coast and ArenaNet.

Come and celebrate this awesome milestone at the 7th Annual Seattle Extra Life Game On event. Get a chance to see inside the Seattle Children’s Minecraft server, sign up to play D&D or Magic: The Gathering, hear from hospital leadership, clinicians and patient families, get cool swag and a chance to win awesome door prizes, eat some great food, and more!
