Saleea’s Spirit Soars with Delta
Delta Air Lines has been a proud partner of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals since 1997, and one of three presenting sponsors of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Champions program.
Seattle Children’s Champion, Saleea, has grappled with sickle cell disease, a life-threatening blood condition that requires constant treatment, since she was born. It can be intense, but it’s no match for Saleea’s winning attitude. The team at Seattle Children’s Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic has supported Saleea from the beginning, and the uncompensated care fund has helped her family manage the medical bills that come with her chronic disease treatment.
On July 31, Delta Air Lines hubs across the country celebrated “A Day for Champions”. At SeaTac Airport, Saleea was treated to a guided tour of a new Airbus 330-900 where she enjoyed sitting in the Captain’s seat in the cockpit and asked Captain Tom Eckert, Base Chief Pilot all about flying for Delta. After the tour, Saleea had the opportunity to make a “gate announcement” for a Delta flight to Atlanta, helping gate agents make sure all passengers boarded their flight. To top off the day, Delta employees treated Saleea to a special party in their private In-Flight Lounge complete with balloons, snacks and beautiful cakes. What an experience for Saleea on her first ever visit to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Many thanks to our friends at Delta Air Lines for making Saleea an honorary team member for the day!
Thank you, Delta Air Lines!
