Meet Camille

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

Derailed by leukemia as a college sophomore, Camille Goodale went through standard chemo treatments, but her cancer returned. She has participated in three CAR T-cell immunotherapy trials at Seattle Children’s to try to beat the stubborn disease. She is currently in remission – thanks to her fighting spirit and to donors who support promising cancer treatments at Seattle Children’s.

Your Yes Delivers the Gift of Life

“I felt welcomed from the very first second of my first phone call to Seattle Children’s immunotherapy team. Heidi Ullom, a clinical research nurse who works with families enrolled in the clinical trial, answered all of my questions and had such a great attitude. From that point forward, we were well taken care of. There’s not one person we’ve met at the hospital who hasn’t been genuinely involved and attentive.

We also feel well cared for by those who donate to Seattle Children’s. I don’t know if they realize how powerful their impact is – thanks to their generosity, kids like my daughter literally have a chance at long, normal lives. Before the CAR T-cell therapies, those with Camille’s diagnosis only had a couple of years left. Supporters of cancer research are literally saving lives. Thank you!
